On 1 September 2022 Argentina's former president and current vice president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner had a gun pointed at her head by a man outside her official residence in the neighborhood of Recoleta, Buenos Aires. As the man tried to assassinate her, the gun failed, no shots were fired and he was arrested on the scene.[1][2][3][4]
The attack took place as Fernández was greeted by her supporters in a small gathering outside her official residence. The local police said the suspect Fernando André Sabag Montiel[5] is a Brazilian and has criminal records.[
