FCC Reminds EAS Participants to Transmit Accessible Emergency Alerts During 2026 Nationwide Test
On November 4, 2026, the FCC released a Public Notice reminding Emergency Alert System (EAS) Participants of their obligation to ensure that EAS alerts are accessible to persons with disabilities.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has scheduled RERUN-Joe Oltmann Untamed | Joe’s Conversation W/ Heidi Ganahl: Blue Wave or Big Lie? | 11.05.26

The Public Notice explains how the EAS test message must be accessible to persons with disabilities, and how consumers may report inaccessible EAS alerts.  General feedback about the EAS test should be directed to the FCC’s Public Safety Support Center at https://www.fcc.gov/general/public-safety-support-center and submitted through the “Alerting Test Feedback” form.  Accessibility complaints should be filed at www.fcc.gov/accessibilitycomplaintsform.
