Christianity Today Mark Galli

Mark Galli (born August 24, 1952)[1] is an American author and editor.

Galli is the editor in chief of the evangelical Christian magazine, Christianity Today.[2][3][4] He previously was associate editor of Leadership and editor of Christian History, magazines also published by Christianity Today. Before becoming a journalist he was a Presbyterian pastor for 10 years; he subsequently changed his denominational affiliation to Anglican.[5]

Galli, a native of California, is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz and holds a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary.[5]

Roger E. Olson described Galli in 2011 as, "a serious evangelical scholar with an irenic approach to controversial material."[6]

In October 2019, Galli announced his retirement from Christianity Today, effective January 3, 2020.[7]

On December 19, 2019, a day after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to file two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, Galli wrote an editorial entitled "Trump Should Be Removed from Office."[8] The publication said the criticisms of Trump were similar to the magazine's approach to the impeachment proceedings of presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.[9]
