• Sales Tax Exemption: Purchases of qualifying gold and silver coins will be exempt from sales tax.
• Requirements for Coins: The gold and silver coins must meet specific purity standards (99.5% for gold and 99.9% for silver) and be stamped with their weight and purity.
• Custodial Services: The law establishes a framework for custodians who hold and facilitate transactions of these coins, requiring them to be licensed as money transmitters and meet certain regulatory requirements.
• Federal Context: This Florida law does not replace the U.S. dollar, but offers an alternative currency choice. 

This law takes effect on July 1, 2026, assuming the state legislature ratifies the necessary implementing rules beforehand.
