May 17th 1792 was the 40th day of the omer. It gets confusing about the NYSE founding. There's two dates. The exchange founded on 5/17/1792 and the NYSE board was created on 3/8/1817 Red heifer sabbath. It took me awhile to figure that out because the Jewish calendar doesn't tell you holiday that far back.
