Just finished reading Joshua again, and it really stands out to me again between Exodus and Joshua how certain families of the Tribe of Judah did backslide away from God back toward the god of El (and perhaps - and likely - others). Seemingly, all the more evidence that the children of Israel are now currently misrepresented by those same families. IOW, they are not the children of Israel we know as being loyal to the God of Moses (when they were loyal and Moses wasn't kicking/killing their asses for being disloyal, that is). Always amazed me at how a people could be freed from bondage (Egypt) and have so many signs and wonders by a God (parting of the Red Sea, etc) and yet still backslide to a different god. But that's just me again being perplexed by those who are unable to discern, I guess. :)
