Good one Joan! I was thinking of this September 23 because it is 44 days after T'isha b'av just like 9/11/01 was 44 days after that T'isha b'av. Of course as you point out September 24 is also 44 days (including end date) from August 11. I calculated from August 10 (beginning of T'isha b'av) to September 23.
