Pope Francis and the Festival of Families
Pope Francis participates in the Festival of Families on Saturday evening, part of the IX World Meting of Families in Dublin, Ireland.
On the evening of Saturday, 25th August, WMOF2018 welcomed Pope Francis and over 80,000 people to share the joy of the Festival of Families celebrations in Croke Park Stadium.
This two-hour festival was choreographed as a celebration of family life and was one of the highlights of the WMOF2018, with music, song, dance, and spoken word.
Four families presented live and video testimonies. They were from India, Canada, Iraq, Ireland and Burkina Faso. A member of the Irish Travellers also spoke to the Pope before the crowd.
The Festival of Families brought together an exciting line-up of creative and performance talent in a cast of thousands, featuring a host of contemporary Irish and international singers, performers, choirs, musicians, dancers, as well as hundreds of volunteers, together creating a unique experience.
